Happy Merrill is happy by Xavietta Happy Merrill is happy by Xavietta
Candid shot my friend took at the Dragon Age meet up at DragonCon :D

Merrill is complete, but I will not wear her again unless I make some serious modifications to that chainmal because it is absolute torture to wear O-o

I do like how everything looked though, except my tattoos need to be darker. If only for that reason, I might wear this again becuase I'm so damn picky :)

Do you happen to know how many rings you used? did you buy the jump rings or did you make the jump rings? I am thinking about cosplaying merrill and would like to do the chainmail (even if its kind of uncomfortable). Any suggestions?

If I remember correctly I used 14g 7/16" rings in aluminum from theringlord.com. I ordered 11 pounds and used a little over half. I'm not sure how many rings that equates to exactly. Hope that helps! Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions :)

This is amazing!! How long did it take you to make the chainmail? and how heavy was it?

Thanks! I worked on it here and there for a year, I couldn't tell you exactly how many hours went into it :/ It weighed about 7 pounds, so it wasn't too heavy but it was extremely tight and killed my shoulders and back. It was worth it though, I had a lot of fun being Merrill ^^
